4.0 out of 5 stars Coded arms - the truth, 19 Dec 2005
Coded arms is a game set inside a computer program used for military training. guess what... it went bad and you are one in a long line of hackers trying to reckover some vital files.
Now for some reviewing:

Graphics: 8/10 They look great but get a but aren't as detailed as some psp games like wipeout pure. It looks pretty incredible when you kill the enemy and they evaporate into a blue-ish skeleton.

Gameplay: 9/10 Fun and Addictive gameplay that is hard to put down!

Sound: 10/10 Good music for when there is an enemy near (even if it may be a giveaway) and when you fire the gun it actualy sounds like a gun, unlike with most handheld games involving guns.

Controls: 6/10 Not too good, the PSP was definately not designed for FPS but i think this game just manages to pull it off with it's auto targeting (when you put the targeting recticle close to an enemy it locks on).

Fun Rating: 10/10 You get to blast the hell out of little annoying bugs.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent Visuals but flawed..., 7 Nov 2005
OK i'm being quite sceptical here, but I try to caver a range of points - the true ones. You basically have to shoot everything in this game. Boxes, people - the lot. The visuals are wonderful, good graphics and textures on the amazing PSP screen. A nice effect is the "virtual" effect: things dissappear in a wave of pixles when shot!
This game has one problem: the control system. The PSP's analogue stick doesn't do the game justice. Because of the stick's limited functionality (fellow PSP owners will know what I mean here), the game is incredibly hard to control. It can be incredibly frustrating at times, especially with such a poor learning curve. The sounds are mediocre.
This is not a very good game, because the PSP limits it. If you are willing to trade graphics for fun and ease, try Metroid Prime Hunters on Nintendo DS, it has a very reactive effective control system.
If you were thinking about this game, reconsider.

4.0 out of 5 stars Its good but......., 18 Oct 2005
By james (Engalnd) - See all my reviews
Coded arms is the first first person shooter for the psp. I own this title and i can safely say it is great except for one little niggle. It's controls, while customisable aren't that hot, but as i said you can customize them to suit you. All in all this is aq great fps title with great graphics and good gameplay
