4.0 out of 5 stars Megatraum's That Martian, 28 Jan 2007
By Omnipotent (The Tangent Universe) - See all my reviews
First things first - Since this album has dropped Jus has said that it was released without his consent, and that the album consists of old verses, beats he didn't like and guest appearances he didn't approve of (mainly Bomshot and Evil Dead, who he now has beef with). He has also said that his up-and-coming album 'The Colossus' should be considered his first official solo album. So with that said is the album any good?

Yes and no. Jus Allah is one of my favourite emcees, when I first heard him on the now classic Jedi Mind Tricks album 'Violent By Design', he stole the show on a great number of tracks with lines like "Ranked in no class like Marxist/ The heartless/ Rise out of darkness/ I'm the last head you should ever try to f*ck with/ Be the next member in the cast of my snuff flick". So the yes part comes from the fact that he has not lost his sharp lines and cynicism towards mankind, spitting rhymes such as "I'm almost out of love, I have very little to spare/ The last n*gga that I killed was in the middle of prayer/ I'm God, so you think that I would probably care/ Truth is I f*cking hate y'all, I solemnly swear."

But the no part comes from the fact that after a few times of hearing how Jus will drink your blood it starts to get tiresome. This is my main qualm with Jedi Mind Tricks with just Vinnie as well, they compliment each other perfectly. Also, while the production is above average, and at times great, it doesn't always suit Jus' subject matter, and the occassional recycled verse doesn't help matters much either.

So if you're an underground purist who values lyrics over accessibility, then odds are you will enjoy this, but I wouldn't expect a G-Unit fanatic to understand. Also for those that haven't heard, Jus has returned to Jedi Mind Tricks and him and Vinnie are in the process of recording a new album entitled 'A History of Violence'. Head to Jus Allah's myspace page to hear their reunion song.

5.0 out of 5 stars Its not Jus' fault!, 15 Dec 2008
Ive rated this 5 stars because Jus allah delivers on his part as far as im concerned, he does whats expected...however Agallah needs to stop existing, his production on this album made it crash and burn, totally wrong, i also didn't enjoy bomshot adding his lack luster rhymes, this is something Jus addressed, he wasn't even supposed to be on the album.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not the Jus Allah we once knew..., 9 Aug 2005
By A Customer
Basically... I'm disappointed to say that for 1) this album has no playback value whatsoever 2) Jus allah sounds like a derranged OG who should have quit the game after Violent by design received its success 3) His lyrics pale in comparison to early work 4) The guests fool you into belivein this could actually be a hot Lp...but unfortunately not. Do not waste your money on this repetitive LP...go cop some jedi mind tricks joints to make up for the disappointment and hope Jus Allah can regain his old steez ONE
