This Single (more a EP) is simply superb. For anyone who loves post-rock and metal this work is a pearl. Imagine the intense and sheer strength of Brutal Truth mixed with the sadness and beautiful tunes of Mogwai? Imagine the brutality and complexity of Converge mixed with the grey ambients of GY!BE? Well, if a band can accomplish this kind of mixtures, that band is Pelican.
From the first notes of "March Into The Sea" I was hooked to their sound. Call it what you want... post, prog, sludge, ambient... it doesn't matter, it's BEAUTIFUL and POWERFUL!!!

I recommend it to anyone who loves music, period!

This cd, i would say is good, but not great or amazing like Australasia or their first, self-titled EP.
If you are new to Pelican, i would reccomend you buy their self titled EP first.
If you are already a pelican fan then it is an interesting listen, although a little disappointing considering the first two.

The first time I loaded the CD and the player registered it a 40 minutes (and yes it is a single with a remix!) I knew that Pelican had pulled something different out of their collective hat. Their first LP Australasia set the tone for mammoth 12 minute songs spanning all moods and styles yet not seemingly thrown together ad lib. March into the Sea continues with an epic jam seething with feedback, fuzz, 'how'd they do that?' riffs, acoustic strums and powerhouse percussion... there really is something in there for everyone.... unless you like vocals. Inspirational when you consider it must've been recorded in one take and won't fail to change your mood, however your day has been up until that point!
