We used to play this game years ago at my grandfather's house - it's simple to learn and lots of fun. You are dealt a few towns, then roll the dice to get around the board visiting each of your towns, then get back to London first. Your opponant can block your route though, and also have to think strategically about the best route, so it's always a race and is very competive. Good fun for all ages.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Greatest Game Ever., 19 Feb 2007

While searching for something to occupy our time, a friend and I stumbled upon this fabulous game in her parents' basement. It was still in plastic wrap when we dusted it off to get a better look at what appeared to be an old, boring board game. Much to our surprise, the game turned out to be fun, fun, FUN; though one would thing that young girls in their early twenties would be out painting various towns red, we feel it is much more satisfying to trap someone in THURSO for as long as possible! Please, please, please, if you see find this gem hidden in Grandma's closet, beneath a stack of old encyclopedias, or (as I did) in your British friend's parents' basement, SNAG it. You will not regret the joy it brings!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Family Favourite, 30 Dec 2005
By A Customer
Durability:3.0 out of 5 stars Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
This game has been around for years, but was out of print for several years. I am happy to see that it is being produced again.

This game is easy to learn and fun to play for all ages. The combination of luck and skill evens the playing field making it enjoyable for people with different skill levels to play together and have fun. The descriptions of the landmarks and historical information on the cards are interesting, and educational, but the information is not necessary to play or win the game.

There have been several editions over the years, and they have improved with each new release. The game rules in the previous editions have not always been clear for some specific situations that arise, so we had to make up our own house rules to cover those. I don't know if this edition has revamped the rule booklet to take those situations into account.

Unfortunately, at this writing, the game cannot be shipped to the United States, othewise I would have ordered several copies to share with my siblings.
