At long last someone has made a horse riding and stabling game which is in-depth, realistic and fun. As the parent of an 11 year old girl who goes riding and also helps out as stables, I have been waiting for this game for what seems like forever. It's been worth the wait. The riding portion of the game is very good, you can choose show jumping, dressage or cross country. The graphics look very good on a mid to high range PC, the horse is easy to control and the environments are quite impressive. There is also an adventure section to the game as well, which is where this game really shows its breeding. You play the main character of the game, a young girl who rides in competitions and also has a stables to run. This section of the game involves looking after the horses, hosing them down after a ride, brushing them, cleaning their hooves out (which is just superb!), feeding them, mucking out and putting new hay down for them. You also ride them in competitions and as you become more successful you get more horses, build bigger stables, get better horse boxes etc etc. But it doesn't just play as a good simulation, you can also ride round the countryside, go into the village, into shops and interact with other characters. There is also some kind of mystery to clear up as well, finding clues, exploring etc. It really is a multi-layered game which has alot of variety. So if your child is nuts about horses, this is definitely the best game yet by far.Only problem is, it's almost impossible to get my daughter off her PC now! A bit of technical info. This game looked excellent on my PC which is well specced; Athlon XP2800 ATI X800XTPE 256mb AGP 1024mb RAM Windows XP home. It looked a bit rough on my daughter's at first, but I turned up the AA and AF in the graphics card utility software and it looked alot better after that. Duron 1.1ghz Geforce 4200ti 128mb AGP 512mb RAM Windows Me.
