In international jazz circles, guitarist Martin Taylor is practically a legend. He was a longtime accompanist to jazz violin legend Stephane Grappelli and several fine albums markhis solo career. Like Grappelli, Taylor likes to vary the context for his playing, which brings us to MARTINS4. This album is something of a guitarist summit meeting--flamenco player Juan Martin, English folk icon Martin Carthy, and MartinSimpson, who plays in both jazz and folk idioms. All are ace performers, all have experience with improvisation, and all express joy in their incredibly nimble playing.
