A Great Day for the Race is a very curious mix of sampled beats and live instrumentation that covers a wide range of musical styles, and is therefore extremely difficult to pidgeonhole!

"Last Man Standing" kicks off the album with an extremely bright feel before "Barry" blends brass and bass to move into Ska territory. "Out of Reach" - the track which first led me towards the music of Cities of Foam - is even harder to describe. Let's just say it's extremely sophisticated, laid back and beautifully arranged, with a great vocal from Nia Lynn.

The rest of the album features more mellow beats, skillful folk-style guitar picking and Asian and African influences - particularly on "Liquid Remedy" and "Under Stars".

If the sun stays out for the next few months, this album could be the perfect soundtrack to the summer.

This really is a great album, it will appeal to people of all ages and tastes in music - everyone from my Granny to my 19yr old clubbing brother loves it - BUY BUY BUY ! ! ! ! ! ! !

check this band out! the sound's an original megalomanical montage of deeply thought muses on the realities of all our situations! just buy it!
