4.0 out of 5 stars Langers Choice-In your House, 14 Mar 2005
By Michael Langan (Sligo,Ireland) - See all my reviews
Lets just get right into it.

IN Your House 13-This really isn't Great apart from the Main Event.
1.Mark Mero vs. Leif Cassidy(Al Snow)
This is an average opener which sets the Tone for the Event.Mero is Terrible.Nobody cared about Al or the Match in general. All the crowds interest was on Sable.Unless your interested in witnessing a well executed shooting star press....Skip this match.3/10

2.Nation of Domination vs.Bart Gunn,Goldust and Flash Funk
Again.....Average.The match doesn't have enough in it to hold the Audiences interest(or Mine).4/10

3.Rocky Maivia vs. HHH(IC Title)
No not the Rock vs. HHH.Rocky Maivia vs. Hunter Herst Helmsley.(For all the casual Fans out there)Good Match, however it Doesn't compare to the Matches they wold have in the Future.6/10

4.Owen Hart & British Bulldog vs.Doug Furnas & Phil Lafon
WHO You ASK? I'M SORRY i can't answer that Question. However both Doug and Phil are Impressive especially when in the ring with Owen.It Drags but there is some good Wrestling.7/10

5.Stone Cold vs. Vader vs. Undertaker vs. Bret Hart(WWF/E Title)
Excellent.I really enjoyed this.It was very Fast paced.Vader didn't seem to know what he was supposed to be doing or to whom.(This only seem to occur once or twice)However he can be forgiven due to his cool blade job. This Match saves the Event.Great effort all round.10/10

In Your House 16-The Reason I bought this DVD.Excellent Event.
1.New Blackjacks vs.The Godwins
Nice to see Bradshaw where He belongs.Yeah thats right Nowhere.Abysmal Match.-1/10

2.Mankind vs. HHH
Big Mick foley fan.Very enjoyable match despite the double Countout.Maybe not as good as Cactus vs. HHH in 1997 and Nowhere near their Classic at the Rumble in 2000 but better than their cage match at summerslam 97'.8/10

3.The Great Sasuke vs.Taka Michinoku
No your reading correctly there is a Cruiserweight match on a WWF/E PPV.Excellent match which leaves the audience no choice but to take Notice and applaud.10/10

4.Undertaker vs. Vader(WWF/E Title)
Very good title match especially for two Big men.Apparently Ahmed Johnson was supposed to face Taker but he Injured Himself.8/10

5.THE Hart Foundation vs Stone Cold,Ken Shamrock,Goldust & The Legion of Doom
Phenomanol Main Event as both Teams reverse Roles. The Hart Foundation become the Heroes and The Americans Receive unbelievable Heat from the Crowd. An Excellent Fast paced match and Excellent Crowd finish off a Great Event which now can be classed as Historic due to the Passing of Hawk,Owen,Davey Boy and Brian and due to Stone Cold and Brets Retirements.10/10

Overall I got what I expected-An above average In Your House 13(due to the Main Event) and a scorching In Your House 16.
It really should become a part of your collection (and this is coming from a WCW Fan.)

This has been brought to you by Michael 'Langer' Langan from SLIGO,IRELAND...........

4.0 out of 5 stars Bret Hart has a title win in Tennessee, and a homecoming in Calgary..., 9 Jul 2009
By Matthew Mercy (Wigan, England) - See all my reviews
This DVD double-bill features two of the WWF's In Your House pay-per-view events, both from 1997. The In Your House shows were originally promoted as second-tier events on the WWF calendar, and were accordingly cheaper to purchase than the five more well-known pay-per-views (Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, King of the Ring, Summerslam, and Survivor Series) the company promoted annually up until 1995; with the arrival of the In Your House cards, the company's pay-per-views became monthly events, and the WWE (as it was re-named in 2002) still promotes at least twelve shows a year to this day.

Final Four, from February 1997, is a reasonably weak show overall, that is only really worth watching for its main event. This is a four-man, over-the-top-rope elimination match for the World Championship, recently vacated by Shawn Michaels, who at the time was possibly the most petulant, unprofessional, and disliked wrestler in the business. The top bout, featuring Bret `Hitman' Hart, The Undertaker, Vader, and Stone Cold Steve Austin, is a reasonably intense scrap that is aided by the ongoing rivalry between Austin and Hart, and by the committed performance of Vader, which is the most impressive of his entire WWF run. There isn't much else on the card to catch the eye, although Rocky Maivia and Hunter Hearst Helmsley face off in a limp mid-card bout in which they show none of the star power they would later bring to their re-invented personas of The Rock and Triple H. Owen Hart and Davey-Boy Smith have a reasonable match with the super-bland team of Doug Furnas and Phil Lafon, but the rest of the action is well below a watchable standard.

By contrast, Canadian Stampede, which was held in Calgary, Alberta, in July 1997, is generally regarded as one of the WWF's best-ever shows. Across just four matches, the pay-per-view maintains a good standard of in-ring action, aided by strong storylines and faultless performances from some of the company's all-time greats. On the undercard, Mick `Mankind' Foley and Hunter Hearst Helmsley have an wild brawl to kick things off, Taka Michinoku and The Great Sasuke have a good high-flyer contest, and The Undertaker and Vader pull off a decent `big man' match for the World Championship. But the really important match on the show is the faultlessly-booked ten-man tag team main event, pitting The Hart Foundation of Bret and Owen Hart, Jim `The Anvil' Neidhart, Davey-Boy Smith, and Brian Pillman against Goldust, Ken Shamrock, The Legion of Doom, and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Though pushed as heels in the US, The Hart Foundation were hailed as national heroes in Canada, and are the clear fan favourites in this match, whilst the American babyfaces (particularly the black-hearted Austin) are almost booed out of the building.
Watching this main event today is a bittersweet experience, as it was, in effect, the `last stand' for the once-mighty Canadian wrestling dynasty of the Hart family. The in-ring celebration at the close of the show is enough to bring a tear to the eye, considering the tragedies that were to befall so many of the wrestlers involved in this epic match. For this bout alone, Canadian Stampede is an event well worth seeing.
