5.0 out of 5 stars At last ! long overdue lost classic !, 11 Feb 2005
By www.dexys.co.uk (Palookaville) - See all my reviews
At last - this album has finally found an official release over 20 years after it was first launched, (in Australia and Canada only). And it has stood the test of time ! Like your music soulful, passionate and raw ? Like brass sections ? Like hammond organ sound ? Buy it now, you will not be disappointed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sentimental Attachment, 12 Mar 2006
So. "Long lost", "much loved" and all the other usual platitudes that go with "missing" LPs. If you are aware of the band you'll have got this the first week of release. If you have a space in your heart for anything even remotely linked to the enigma that is Kevin Rowland you'll have got it by now. So, what about those of you who don't really know what to expect? Imagine a gang that have traded their knuckle dusters for brass instruments. Drop in the best set of lungs this side of Tom Jones (and add a shedload more charisma) and the hammond organ of one Michael Talbot esq and the outcome is probably going to sound passionate, intense, powerful and full of Soul. That this band didn't rise and rise probably says more about the public at large than the Bureau. This is a tour de force and there's not a duff track on here. As for the live LP? That's even better - you can feel the sweat dripping off the ceiling when listening to it. Put it next to Otis, Wilson Pickett and if they ever tour again beg, steal or borrow the means to catch this outfit. Cherish the sound captured here.

4.0 out of 5 stars the Dexy's that time forgot, 14 Oct 2005
By Peter Ball "ballfamily4" (Somerset, England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
When Kevin Rowland moved the violins and street urchin look into Dexy's Midnite Runners, these were the guys who left to continue with the original sound. Big brass section, Boxer boots et al. Best song is the one about Derek Bentley called 'Let him have it'. Not quite the same without Rowland's genius but not bad nonetheless.

2.0 out of 5 stars Without Kevin.....
Oh man! Great band sound, everything is there EXCEPT the singer can't sing! Did no one else in the band think this? Weakest link and someone should have said goodbye to him.
