4.0 out of 5 stars Looks good and works - an easy way to be a bit green., 7 Sep 2005
The unit looks very good (although it is thicker than it looks from the photo) and is easy to use. It's a great gadget for taking traveling, as once the unit is fully charged it can give a full charge to both an ipod and a mobile phone - so you don't need to carry to carry two sets of chargers (or stay in one place whilst your gadgets charge up) when you're on the road.

One thing thought - the Solio needs pretty strong sunshine to charge up, and I had to try it in a couple of places in my flat before I found somewhere it would charge (I found leaning it up against a south facing window works fine, even with the window closed). So far, the British summer sun has proved sufficient to give almost a full charge in about 12 hours - but as I've only had the unit a couple of weeks, I can't say how things will work out in the winter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this! Multitudes of power supplies are a thing of the past!, 5 Jun 2006
well I am sick and tired of having a multitude of chargers with me on business and social trips. I love SCUBA diving and skiing and want to keep packing down to a minimum- this little device is wonderful. I can charge my nano and my phone- from the same charge of a fully topped up unit. The support is excellent from Solio- and a whole range of interchangeable tips for all sorts of personal devices from mobile phones to iPods to handheld games. I was a little disappointed that it didn't have a case although I found that some of those little goodie bags you sometimes get when travelling on airlines fits everything in nicely! (thank you united airlines!) Further more if you are travelling by plane get a window seat and stick the unit to the window with the little suction mount and hey presto! fully charged ready for your holiday! So much nicer than all those chargers, nicer for the planet and ultimate mobility! Where can you find a power socket on the beach when you want one!- great!

5.0 out of 5 stars Solio is fantastic, 15 Feb 2006
By A Customer
I only wish I had one of these products earlier. I have just spent a week trekking up to Annapurna Base Camp in Nepal, which sits at 4200 metres. In a word the Solio was a lifesaver; not only did it charge my iPods telephone in an area with almost no electricity, but both the guide and porter both wanted to know where they could get hold of such an ingenious product ! Congratulations on a great looking and functional eco-friendly design.

Also the fact that it comes with a suction cup that fits into the central hole means you can stick it to a window in your house or car and just let it charge up during the day.
