This is the second album from LA based rapper Busdriver. From listening to the album it is easy to hear why a UK record label like Big Dada have signed him, aside from the fact that Busdriver is a good rapper he also has indie rap crossover appeal which will undoubtedly appeal to a UK audience.
Busdriver's verbal skills are without question top notch but what really makes this a great record is the element of humour which runs throughout the record. So many hip hop artists have tried and failed to do this well in the past, but with 'Fear of a Black Tangent' Busdriver gets it spot on.

As a newcomer to hip hop, I've been listening to a lot of classic and contemporary stuff this year. This is probably the best thing I've heard. The lyrics are intelligent and the production is eclectic and inspired, especially on those tracks produced by Daedelus, whose own album Exquisite Corpse is another highlight of the year.
