DVD Description

The Inspector Morse – Series 4 DVD contains all the episodes from the forth series of this popular and long-standing British television show. First broadcast in 1987, the Inspector Morse series is a cops and crime drama based on the Colin Dexter novels of the same name. The show revolves around the exciting exploits of Morse (John Thaw)--a senior officer within the Criminal Investigation Department of the Oxford Police--as he investigates heavy crimes in and around Oxford with his sidekick, Inspector Lewis (Kevin Whately). Morse is a grumpy classical music aficionado who loves beer, and who frequently loses patience with the earnest but somewhat slow Lewis.

As a totally committed Colin Dexter and Morse fan, I can't really give a bad review. I wasn't as keen on the driving school episode, but the rest were Morse at his best, ably assisted as always by Lewis. I think the Morse series improved tremendously as it went along, and season 4 is testimony to the excellent scripts and acting. If you like to stretch your brain at the same time as being entertained then Morse has to be first choice.
