5.0 out of 5 stars Review of Southern Region, 3 Feb 2007
By DD "Dan" (Surrey, England) - See all my reviews
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
The best add on i have played on yet, the locomotives are superb and with such a choice it makes it twice as fun. I have been on three of the locos and that makes it exceptionally special for me . I have experienced a few problems with the locomotives refusing to work and i still cant solve it. Apart from that absolutely brilliant!

1.0 out of 5 stars Poorly optimised simulation, 23 Sep 2006
By Andrew Page (Surrey, United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
I can find very little to praise in this add-on for MS Train Sim. It is more resource hungry than the London & South-East add-on, and that's saying something! I can run the latter on my system, but Southern Region is just a slide show. The cabs, other than for the Bulleid pacifics, are uninspiring. Also, the activities are, to say the least, odd. Having activities where the majority of the service is for a route not provided, e.g. you get to operate a Waterloo to Alton service for the couple of miles between Woking and Brookwood, a miniscule part of the total route, seems to me perverse in the extreme. That's true of several of the activities.

1.0 out of 5 stars Graham Gooch, 19 Sep 2007
By C. Hutchings "The new Motty" (Southampton) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
Gooch's 333 and 123 against india in 1990 was a hioghlight of a long and distinguished career. Nike Gatting likes a good buffet. Alan Mullally has one leg longer than the other and a fantastic name is former Hampshire batsman Rupert Fiennes Cox. Richard Scott's 116 against Yorkshire is one of the best innings ever seen at The County Ground where Vic Isaacs used table tennis bats to acknowledge the umpires. The advertising boards were wooden. Robin Smith straight drove a six during his 77 versus Notts. Simon O'Donnell dodged autographs and a guy named Pete attempted to operate the scoreboard. The end. Oh and the train games are boring!!
