Guys who like Women In Prison movies should enjoy this 1969 Jess Franco exploitation "classic"- it's pretty sleazy & mindless-which is what anyone watching a WIP movie wants right? But it is pretty tame by today's standards-just a couple of topless scenes- Mercedes McCambridge steals the show as the sadistic warden- Herbert Lom is the prison governor who abuses the girls for his own pleasure -the theme tune "The Day I Was Born" is really catchy - and this Blue Underground edition is a great print of the movie.

Ignore the ad blurb, There is some nudity, some lesbianism, and a very brief scene of sadism. But to say "Features copious amounts of lesbian torture and sex, numerous displays of hot and sweaty semi-naked women - all wearing stockings and very little else." Is basically a lie. I'm guessing that this has been in Love Film's vaults for a while, because this kind of advertising was popular in the 1980s and 1990s, but is actually considered fraud nowadays and is technically illegal!

have watched several WIP films which were just about watchable but this one is awful. The usual women at the mercy of prison officials and other prisoners but without the usual violence and sex. Whatever sex scenes were originally filmed are non-existent in this version - well, there was one but the picture went out of focus as soon as it began! Pity to see the great Herbert Lom in this crap.

For 1969 this is a pretty hardcore movie, a sexy women in prison movie with a basic storyline about a falsely accused woman who get subject to rape and lesbianism at the hand of the corrupt staff, its all very cheesy with lots of close ups of penetration and hardcore sex, most of the time its all done by porn doubles as you can see its not the actors, there is lots of female nudity and lesbian scenes and even a couple of rapes, all very exploitive of the 60's, if you're a fan of this type of thing its worth checking out as its one of the best around, beautiful girls, cheesy acting and a cheesy music score but still a good romp with an unexpected unhappy ending!! This review is based on the French X-rated version which is totally uncut.

It is my own fault. I only have myself to blame. I will never buy another WIP movie again. They are all utter drivel, and this one is no exception. The amazing thing is that there are so many of them, so there obviously is a market for them ... but why .. how?
