    There are no words to describe this machine that are clean!
    Purchased a few of these units and they have all had the same faults, and , ultimately the same END fault.
    They randomly 'freeze up', sometimes a few times per day. The final result is when you get the 'Rescue..(~2 hours)' message. This is the point where you scream and scream the words "Echostar!!!" as if they are a new swearword. If you bother contacting their many European email addresses and don't get a response (not even automated acknowledgment) then don't worry, you're not alone!
    Don't buy this receiver unless you like failure.

    I have compared on digital channel scanning between this and the Digi Fusion I bought from Argos and under my aerial without booster, the Echostar 105 have captured quite a few decent digital channels i.e. ITV2, BBC three, BBC Four, ITV3, SKY 3, UK TV History, More 4, E4, Film4, Film4+1, CBBC, Cbeebies, BBC news 24, BBC Parliament, Sky News etc while Digi Fusion failed to do the channels like UK TV History, BBC 3, BBC 4, SKY 3, Flim 4, Cbbc, Cbeebies, Sky News & BBC Parliament. This one also has got a slot-socket for your Top Up TV. EPG response is quick and OSD menu is very clear and instructive.

    It was nice at first but soon stopped working. It froze and locked it down.

    The fault you discribe is not the unit but your aerial. you can have the finest most expencive Didital box, T/V, video or whatever and it will freeze if you have a poor quality... Read more

    I have had this unit for under a year. It constantly freezes up. I have a professionally installed ariel so its not that. This was supposed to be Top up ready, not so. Read more
