Product Description

DJ Lord Litter, Germany.

This is the best pop album out of Great Britain since bands like The Beatles and 10CC are no more.

Stone Premonitions, UK.

Song-writing of this calibre belongs up there with the finest Beatles tunes, and that is no understatement!

4.0 out of 5 stars beatlesque pop for those who love the beatles but, 25 Mar 2005
who don't exactly relish "beatle-y" power pop imitators. really, nearly every song on this accomplished, confident disc is a keeper: quite pretty melodies that aren't cloying, interesting twists that are not self-consciously arty or self-reflexive, cheery lyrics and solid musicianship. the recording quality is charmingly semi-lo-fi (hence, i knocked off one star). i buy loads of new music--and this record really stands out. had it in my player (and i am WAY JADED) for weeks and weeks (got an advance copy--lucky me!) Buy Cheese!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Cheese gets under your skin, 10 April 2008
No, it doesn't really sound like the Beatles, it's better than that, (ducks for cover)...It takes a few listens to fully appreciate the craftsmanship going on here, every track is a gem. It's kinda guitar orientated melodic harmonious indie rock, with a hint of prog. Very inventive, lovely subtleties, gorgeous hooks, clever arangements and acomplished playing. A genuine overlooked classic, made on a shoestring budget, it outshines more famous artists with 'proper' labels behind them. So enjoy this Cheese, not as processed slices, but a slowly matured, rich textured cheddar, take time to taste the nuances of flavour, real appealable cheese.

3.0 out of 5 stars Beatles??, 29 April 2005
By A Customer
Have people actually not listened to the Beatles in so long they've forgotten how they sounded? Though all the advance press I saw used the Beatles comparison, I think this sounds more like The Dukes of Stratosphear...minus the fun. It's not bad, but not fantastic either.
