In my opinion Alfredo Kraus is not as widely known as he should be, with a flawless technique and expression that few can match he reaches top C's with aparent ease! If you are an aspiring tenor such as myself then this album is vital, especially in hearing a true master of Bel canto singing, unlike many of his contempories who pushed themselves into heavier repertoire Kraus kept to the style his voice was most suited to, hence why he continued to sing professionally to nearly the end of his life. His performances of Bellini and Donizetti are the highlights of this album although he does excells in the works of ter comnpsers such as Mozart and Massenet. A real master of his art, this album presents the Best of the Best.
