Initially a bit scepetical about this title fearing that this was just another EA money scheme in the light of Champions League recommencement. However I was pleasantly surprised and glad to be proven wrong. This game is an absolute delight and improvements evidently apparent. There are a number of improved animations and touches which all add to the atmosphere of the game. For instance when a CPU opponent is chasing the game it really does change tactics and formations and piles on the pressure. This version does at last see the CPU make tactical and visual substitutions. Nice touch also, when the CPU pulls a goal back but is still a goal down, the animations show a player quickly grab the ball from the back of the net eager to resume the game to try and pull back the equaliser! Commentary is possibly the best commentary in a football game to date. Clive Tyldesy is almost perfect and really adds a different and fresh dimension, making comments at the right time and situation. More could have been utilised from Andy Gray's co commentary but having said that the his co-commentary is still an improvement over previous versions. All in all leaps forward and highly recommended !!

A great game - fantastic animations, nice smooth graphics, and a real sense of live TV coverage. Gameplay, its a massive improvement too, and it was needed. I just cant understand why FIFA didnt keep this style of gameplay and graphics and take it into the newer FIFA's... strange one. Good game though!
