I recently became interested in Japanese manga / anime when I saw the trailer for Dirge of Cerberus From the Final Fantasy 7 story line. The background music (Redemption by Gackt) was brilliant for it. Go do a search for it on google video. The websites orchestrated music was even better. This lead me to check out the music from the other final fantasy series of games and I fell in love with the Japanese manga style of music. Mixtures of hard rock when kicking serious ass to instrumental pieces that would move you to tears during more emotional scenes. This lead me to purchase appleseed 2004 on dvd and I'm still waiting for Advent children to arrive. The musical score of this film is bang up to date from its opening sequence to the final credits. It contains a mixture of r&b, rock, metal and instrumental tracks for the flashback sequences.
The fact that you get both in this 2 cd pack is a real bonus as most normal movies make you go buy a second cd for the original score. Having just sat and watched appleseed 2004 again tonight with the sound up full blast, I highly recommend it and its soundtrack. If you like final fantasy music, specifically FF10
the second cd is for you.
