5.0 out of 5 stars Stylish kids in the riot, 20 May 2005
A great introduction to the hot new bands of the moment from the good people of Nude. This disc contains most of the British bands to break through on in the past two years with all bar one track, The Coral's "Don't Think You're The First", being released in 2004/5. (Razorlight's "Stumble and Fall" had a limited release in 2003)

Containing singles from the essential pack of Gang of Four/ Wire influenced NME bands Franz Ferdinand, The Departure and Bloc Party along with Britpop revitalists The Kaiser Chiefs and The Ordinary Boys. For me though the highlights are elsewhere. full marks for including Sons and Daughters feral sounding "Johnny Cash", Specials and Clash hybrid "Riot Radio" from The Dead 60's and the best track from last years "Who Killed The Zutons?", "You Will You Won't"

Also The Hope of The States are well worth checking out, although Nehimaih is better track then the one featured here. As are the cure-isms of XTC sound-a-likes Dogs Die In Hot Cars.

Low points for me are The Others and The Music but I fully understand they ~NEED~ to be on here. The same can't be said for GLC considering Kasabian aren't featured.

Overall a great compelation for the uninitiated or for those wanting to plug up a few gaps in thier collection before the albums come out so they can say. "i told you about them" to their friends when they get huge.
