4.0 out of 5 stars Great Media Tool, 22 Aug 2006
I purchased this kit purley for audio functions and am very pleased with the results.

The unit can be connected to a hard wire or wireless network and will allow you to access all of your music, movie and picture files from your desired location. It does need a TV to work as it gives you a SCART video out.

The set up is quite tricky and if you are not good with a PC then rope in a friend that is as you will need to make adjustments to firewall ports and exceptions + moore.

The Philips media manager software is a bit clunky and stupid (puts bands that start with The under T instead of the band name i.e. The Clash should come under C) but this can be edited.
Once you have scanned your files and you are under way you don't really have to use it anymore as it runs as a service on start up.

The sound quality is great and it has made it possible to get rid of all my CDs from the front room giving me (my wife) a lot moore room. Great for parties as no one has to get beer on the CDs or your deck and nothing goes missing.

I love this product but is a pain to first set up.

    Quick tips

You need a network connection to your PC.
Load all your music to Windows Media Player as it does not reconise Sonic Stage music files.
If you are not bothered set up your network to give IP address on request as this seemed to work much better than static IP.
Go to firewall advanced and allow the UnPN function and shre media files. You may also have tto set up some port exceptions manually.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers
