This album comes as a bolt out of the blue. A 17-year-old smalltown American kid with a guitar, computer, microphone and an incredible gift.

Khonnor's compositions show an admirable balance and complexity given the limited equipment available to him, and an astonishing level of maturity and originality. Most of all, the album is a pleasant listen throughout and warrants repeated play. Ideal chill-out music.

'Handwriting' should appeal to fans of lo-fi indie and folktronica alike. He may not quite be the finished product; we only have to hope that he's soon let loose in a real studio to build on this early promise. Buy this now then tell all your friends that you heard him first.

It is hard to think of too many exports that have come out of Vermont better than Khonnor. I guess it all depends what you like to put on your pancakes. I know other reviewers have mentioned his tender age of 17 when writing this album - and ordinarily an artists biography is not necessary. It is the work we like - and what lives on. However. WHAT 17? YOU'RE KIDDING. Unfortunately I am not, this guy has talent, and with his sophmore record out later this year I suggest you read the other reviews, learn about this guy, buy his record, Handwriting, and his latest single Burning Palace (you can get it off Type Records website)and make your life better. (Oh that sounded crass).

After getting over the off-tune radio effects and listening a second time (and then several times more over the last week) this is one that won't gather dust. With sounds like Boards of Canada, My Bloody Valentine and Aphex Twin this has been a real find for my collection
