I really cannot big this film up enough. It is in the same league as Commando. There is no flab in this film. No character, no dialogue, just constant automatic gunfire.

The plot is insane. Random 'terrorists' invade the USA (wierdly gunning down some Cuban refugees on route); it is never explained who they are, what they are doing, or what they want. Scene after scene of terrorists attacking Americans playing baseball, celebrating Christmas, in a church follow. There is one scene where they just drive around a neighbourhood, firing a bazooka into each house!

However, wherever they appear, Norris appears son afterwards and guns them down with a pair of SMGs seemingly attached to his braces. Norris is utterly emotionless, and unfazed by being completely outnumbered by the terrorists, or anything they do. He never looks worried, or even really looks, even when speeding in his pick up truck towards a dozen terrorists firing bazookas (the terrorists always have bazookas in this film).

The film builds to crescendo of lunacy with the National Guard, with about a dozen tanks, in a shoot out in the streets of Miami against about a hundred terrorists. Meanwhile Norris blows the villain out a plate glass window with his own bazooka. And then the film suddenly ends.

Noteworthy is the film's only actress, a sassy reporter, presumably put there to avoid some kind of sexual discrimination claim, who Norris completely ignores.

Rostov, an all black wearing tyrant, is planning to unleash a reign of terror on the U.S., but before he does he decides to go after Matt Hunter, a former CIA agent, who lives in Florida, who once had Rostov's life in his hands but took him alive, and now Rostov is plagued by nightmares of Hunter.

Rostov goes after him but misses, so Hunter, who has already been approached by his former employers to go after Rostov, decides to go after him.

But he is only one man and Rostov has hundreds of men ripping the country apart, so how will he stop it......

Of all the Cannon movies that were released in the eighties, this one is the most eventful. Yes, there is Electric Boogaloo, Bloodsport, and the Death Wish Sequels, but no other garnered Norris the reputation he has today.

To sum the movie up, it's Norris in all denim, versus the earths biggest terrorists whom have a penchant for ridiculous hats.

They blow up his house, he destroys his window.

They blow up a store, he crashes through the stores main doors with the most macho clothing accessory of all time........ Matching Uzis on an attractive belt.

If you are find of the Cannon group, then this is a must, their films where a wonder of creation in the eighties, high concept.............low budget.

It's so much fun to watch. Lynch, in one scene, has what appears to be a never reload rocket launcher, and blows up a Christmas tree, and come the final scene, he literally screams himself into an explosion.

And then it finishes, with a still of Norris staring angrily due to the fact that he has a speck of blood on his shirt.

It's Friday night viewing for sure, complete rubbish, but so good while it lasts.

Gotta love the hats.

A group of communist Latin American guerillas disguise themselves as American coast guards and when they land in America they exchange drugs for guns with a drug dealer. They then proceed to wreck havoc on the American people before the rest of their army land to take control. The only man able to stop them is retired CIA agent Matt Hunter.

After the success of Joseph Zito's Missing in Action he was resigned up by Cannon producers Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus to make this intense and action packed flick with the peoples favourite Chuck Norris.

Richard Lynch is perfectly cast as the terrorist leader Mikhail Rostov, his mission is to take control of America. Unfortunately he has some history with Matt Hunter which will cloud his judgement as he wants revenge more than anything else. His mission is to cause as much trouble as he can as to cause havoc in the streets. He has his men dress up as police and shoot unarmed Mexicans and then in another scene he has them plant bombs in a supermarket.

Chuck Norris gives his usual performance as the good hearted hero putting everything on the line to save the innocent. After surviving a attempt assassination by Lynch and his gang he moves into the city and starts to thwart his plans. He stops them blowing up a church and a school bus by handing them back their explosives at just the right moment. The best been when he turns up at the supermarket with his truck and handy two Uzi's.

The main thing that stood out to me was the lack of hand to hand fighting which Chuck Norris was most famous for. He throws his first kick at the films climax when he takes on Richard Lynch. The beating he gives him is short but it was worth the wait. However earlier in the film he does give one of the best one liners I have ever heard, “I'll hit you so many times with my right, you will be begging for a left”.

Overall it is a action packed and entertaining film that all fans of Chuck Norris will love.

This movie is not for a serious movie buff. This is just a movie with a far fetched story line and the acting leaves some thing to be desired. (Chuck Norris has never won an Oscar because Chuck Norris doesnt act). I guess Chucks bullet proof America comes under attack Chuck saves the day with hillarious Consequences.

Chuck Norris rocks.
