Synopsis

In hiding in Mexico, hit man Jimmy The Tulip Tudeski (Bruce Willis) has become a veritable Martha Stewart, cooking and cleaning up a storm. Meanwhile, his new wife Jill (Amanda Peet) is distraught that her own career as an assassin has yet to take off. When Jimmy's ex-wife Cynthia (Natasha Henstridge) is kidnapped by Hungarian mobster Lazlo Gogolak (Kevin Pollak), her husband, klutzy dentist Nicholas Oz Oseransky (Matthew Perry) turns to Jimmy for help. Soon, Jimmy, Jill, and Oz are involved in a game of cat and mouse with Lazlo and his men trying to trade Cynthia for Lazlo's dim-witted adult son, whom the trio has kidnapped. But do Jimmy and his ex have a secret that they're not sharing with their spouses

3.0 out of 5 stars Sequel = More of the same., 24 Jan 2005
'The Whole Ten yards' is the sequel to the 2000 comedy 'The Whole Nine Yards'. This new offering finds Oz (Perry) based in LA with a huge dental practice, a flash sports car and a mansion for a home - presumably bought with the wealth acquired in the previous film. However, the lifestlye is not as perfect as it seems with Perrys apparent paranoia sending him and his wife crazy.

It transpires the paranoia is well-founded when he arrives home one day to find a Hungarian Mob waiting for him with the news that his wife has been kidnapped. Of course the mob are not interested in the dentist, they are in pursuit of the hitman Jimmy 'The Tulip' (Willis) and want revenge for the death of the kingpins son Janni Gogolak, which leads Oz to Mexico in attempt to lure Jimmy out of retirement.

The film boasts a stellar cast including Matthew Perry, Bruce Willis, Amanda Peet and Kevin Pollack but the script is too weak for them to show the full range of their acting ability. Don't get me wrong - I thought the film was ok, without being laugh out loud funny - I think most people who enjoyed the first movie will find this watchable fare.

4.0 out of 5 stars Even better than the first, 5 Jan 2005

I loved the first film the whole nine yards so when i heard about this i had to see it. I never even heard it mentioned at the cinemas and thought i wouldn't get to see it but then found while in america. My copy is the region 1 version but i can only assume that it will be the same version released on our shores. Its absolutly hilarious with Bruce Willis playing a much more comical role and Matthew Perry up to his usual anticts were so used to in friends. A must with great picture and sound and many plot twists youll be captivated right till the end. Enjoy

1.0 out of 5 stars Absolute disappointment, 16 Feb 2005
By A Customer
You cannot compare this sequel to the original, its just plain weak. I had been warned about this but decided to watch it for myself because of the cast - what a disappointment. If you haven't seen it then you aren't missing anything, save your money.
