1.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointing, 17 Feb 2005
From the outset this box has been pretty awful. It was bought for Top Up TV. Although the first month is supposed to be free, once you have set up this service Top Up TV take their first payment as soon as you have given them your bank details. The box often crashes when trying to retrieve text services and you're left with a blank screen. Only switching it off at the wall and rebooting it with a well timed press of the menu button will get it going again. Today I find that the remote control no longer works! I am completely appalled by how bad this unit has behaved. Beware!

    1.0 out of 5 stars Echostar T105 --RUBBISH, 7 Nov 2005
This box is without doubt, the most useless piece of electrical equipment on the planet! It crashes constantly and has no backup from the manufacturer. I took mine back to Argos after 6 months of rebooting every hour or so. The chap at Argos said they had received many complaints/returns and were selling their remaining stock at a loss. Echostar claim there is a software problem and a fix will be available but they cannot say when. This is a rubbish product with no backup from the manufacturer and is not worth the effort. DO NOT BUY THIS UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED FOR ENDLESS HASSLE AND LACK OF SUPPORT. CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP............

3.0 out of 5 stars Good box - but limitations, 29 Mar 2005
    By A Customer
This is a very attractive piece of equipment and works very well. However, the RF (ordinary aerial output) is not operational and so it was not possible to send a signal to another television, meaning I could not use it to replace my Sky box. Also, whilst the TopUpTV is a very good idea and attractive because it focusses on 10 or so good channels, the times at which the programmes are available are more limited it seems than the equivalent on Sky, and this did not suit our personal viewing habits much. If these issues of not important to you, I would recommend the box.
