From the Label
The TV series of Long Way Round documented the adventures of film stars Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman on their 20,000 mile motor bike trip around the world. Departing from London on 14th April 2004 the pair travelled through Europe, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Siberia, Alaska, Canada arriving in the USA just over 3 months later.

This accompanying soundtrack to their adventure features the cream of British indie-rock and electronica featuring bands such as Radiohead, Coldplay, Blur and Massive Attack.

When I listen to this cd after watching the absoloutely amazing TV series, I can't help but lose myself in thought, thinking about what the journey would be like to actually of participated in.

This music which I am not normally into, but I now can't help but play, makes me think even more about what an acheivement Ewan, Charley, David and Russ have accomplished.

It makes me so happy that I have been able to listen to what they think was fitting music to the series but on the other hand it makes me sad, in that I will probably never be able to experience that particular trip for myself.

I also have the DVD and it is one of the best I have ever bought.

This is quite a good album but has one massive downfall. The reason most people would buy it would be for the programe cover music by the Stereopnonics. The problem being, it's not on here. Bit of a shame really as the rest of the long way round collection is very well put together.
This said the tracks on here are all really good even though most people probably have 90% of them on their existing collection.

As soundtracks go, this one is no more or less than so-so.
So many great songs were used in the series it must have been hard to choose just 15!

The glaring omission has to be the title track, specially written by Kelly Jones at Ewan's request - and no explanation to be found anywhere as to why that song's not included here - or where it's going to be available!
