3.0 out of 5 stars Lively stone age adventure, 30 Oct 2009
By Mr. M. Jones "Jonesmz" (Chester, England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Tanar of Pellucidar (Paperback)
This is one of the series of books (which were written between writing other books) of the Pellucidar series, made famous by the film 'at the earth's core'. The journeys across the stone age land are great, and contain a few of the Edgar Rice Burroughs staples - kidnap, dungeons, love being spurned and then embraced, various races at different stages of civilisation. It also has some new elements, such as the journey to the frozen north which hints at future episodes, some well defined baddies and a love triangle. For me it does lack a few things, such as a map to follow the action and a focus on the monsters, but overall it rocks along at a good pace.
