Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Asphalt: Urban GT is about driving a fast car in an open road environment and includes: avoiding incoming traffic, taking risks to get rid of the cops that chase you, trying to push your rivals into the traffic, maintaining control of your vehicle, using the Nitrous Oxide System (Turbo boost) when appropriate, and finally reaching the finish line in first place. Winning a race and taking risks earns money for the player. Money will allow to buy new cars and customize them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent arcade racer but where's the online racing?, 7 Jan 2005
Asphalt's an excellent arcade-style racer (it doesn't even TRY to be realistic) which is a good contrast to the realism of Colin Mcrae, and it looks and sounds wonderful too. Gameloft used an upgraded version of the same 3D engine which got good reviews on Ghost Recon and the graphics are absolutely lovely, PlayStation quality. Look at the screenshot!

I've taken off one star though because for some inexplicable reason they've left out N-gage Arena support so you can't race online. This means that once you've beaten the game you've beaten the game.

If you want an n-gage arcade racer with online, wait for Glimmerati in May. If you want a realistic racer (also with Arena support), get Colin Mcrae.
