Having bought this disc quite recently principally for the Rodney Bennett (as far as I'm aware, this is the only recording containing all five movements, as opposed to just #4. The Seasons of His Mercies), I was pleased to discover five more tracks (by Tormis and Poole) I'd never heard before, all of which are sung with The King's Singers' trademark precision and blend.

Of the remaining five that I already knew, the Gorecki is stunning, and Tavener's The Lamb is sung beautifully, lending itself, in both its simplicity and relatively low treble part, to their style of singing.

I wouldn't say that this disc contains the best recordings of each of these works - there are certainly more dynamic recordings of several of these tracks by professional chamber choirs - but if their unique intimacy of ensemble is what you're after, this is a fine disc to add to your King's Singers collection.
