A Great Laugh!, 11 Dec 2004
Dancing Stage Fusion is the 7th game in the Dancing Stage series. It includes a huge number of songs, including plenty to unlock. You begin with two characters, but you can unlock more, aswell as being able to unlock extra costumes for them all.I should start with the actual dancing aspect. You can configure it so you can dance to between 1 and 5 songs in a set. First of all you choose a character and costume, then you pick the song and difficulty. There are four difficulty levels: Beginner, Standard, Difficult and Expert. There is also the Nonstop mode where a set of song is given and you don't get a break inbetween songs, and Challenge mode where you have to dance through a series of songs without making more than 3 mistakes. Once you have danced a song, you will recieve a grade from E-A*, depending on how many steps you correctly made, the points you have and the size of the dance gauge at the end. After a set, you get an overall grade. There is also a Quick Start mode for those who want to get started straight away. If you're new to Dancing Stage, try the Lesson Mode, where you learn what to do and how to do it, such as 1/8 beat steps and stepping on two pads simultaneously. If you're having trouble with a song, use training mode. Here you can dance to the song with each bar split into sections to make it easier for you. You can unlock mission mode where you are given a certain thing you have to do to pass, such as only dance to a certain part of the song. Another unlockable extra is endless mode, where you dance through every song as one continuous mix. You choose the play style and difficulty level, and away you go! If you own an Eye-Toy, there are some crazy Party Games such as Hands and Feet, where you use your hands and feet to dance (duh), and Watch me Dance, where you can see yourself dancing. Edit mode allows you to create your own steps for a song. You scroll down and press X, Circle, Triangle or Square to add a step. You can then dance using your new routine on Game Mode. Another feature is Workout Mode, where you put in your weight and you can find out how many calories you burn. Aswell as a cumulative total, it tells you how far you'd have to jog or swim, or how many times you'd have to jump a skipping rope, to burn that many calories. You can configure the default difficulty, difficulty level and many other things on options mode, including saving and loading. I bought this game because I really liked using the Dance machines, and I wanted one for myself. It was a great buy, and i'm really glad I did it. This is an excellent game!
