I've owned the LP of The Spectacular Trumpet of kenny baker for over 30 years and I have waited patiently for it to come out on CD. As a trumpet player myself, this is without doubt the finest album of a trumpet solo artist. Baker's virsatility is breathtaking, the choice of arrangement is first class and the Roland Shaw Orchestra outstanding. A must for any music lover

I was lucky enough to see Kenny baker and his band perform live on two occasions when I was a young lad, my Dad, himself a Pro trumpet player, took me and a mate of mine, to the "three crowns" venue in the Midlands, where I witnessed "the spectacular trumpet of Kenny Baker" first hand.
That experience has never left me, he was a truly great player...and my Dads favorite also....whenever my Dad was asked what he wanted to do with his life, he would answer "I wanna play the trumpet like Kenny"
I vividly remember peering through the smokey haze, as Kenny and his orchestra set the place alight....and my old dad would shout out "tell em Kenny"
Well I have cherrished the vinyl recording for [...]and it was my dads favorite, now we can all have "the spectacular trumpet of Kenny Baker" on CD, the arrangements and sound quality still sound fresh and current even today...spectacular..I'll say...TELL EM KENNY !!!!
