3.0 out of 5 stars power ballads 3, 18 Nov 2004
i think this cd is a great follow up from power ballads one and two there are some new songs aswell as old ones so there is a good mixture. This would be a brilliant christmas present for dads who love CD's and listening to music in their cars.

5.0 out of 5 stars powerful, 1 Dec 2004
By A Customer
I'm sure that most people who buy this - like the previous reviewers - will already have either volume 1 or 2 of Power Ballads. They were excellent surveys of rock ballads to be sure, but probably best if you were a teenage rocker in the 1980s! Where this album improves is in providing much more modern tracks mixed in with old. Anastasia's is probably the newest and clearly the marketing hook. However, having listened to the rest, they are almost all tracks that anyone will recognise from the last 20 years or so.

Show me Heaven, Stop, Up where we belong, Holding out for a hero - for example - are just some of the great songs here that are all the better for being known but not played to death like so much of the second rate new poop[sic] music on the airwaves these days. Except The Final Countdown. Urgh!

Pandora's Box 'It's All Coming Back To Me Now': better than Celine Dion by a mile. And Jamelia's track is great too but I'm not sure who sings the original. Etc. Etc. I could go through them all but the best thing to say is: if you like rock you will find much to give satisafaction.

A properly great compliation - buy it because they don't come along all that often!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, 25 Nov 2004
Having bought Power Ballards 1 and 2, the third one is excellent, luckily I have a 6cd auto changer so can fit all three albums in at once, and they are simply excellent to listen to in the car.

A superb mix of classic and new ballards from music legends like Queen, Cher and Meatloaf, but with new comers like The Calling and Anastacia (my fav on the entire album)

This is a must buy album!

1.0 out of 5 stars Do Not Buy this CD!
Do not buy this CD its rubbish! Stick with UPB's Number 1 its got all you need! They were clearly struggling for ideas and power ballads when they made this CD..

2.0 out of 5 stars cd 2 ruined
This album would be perfect but for 10 minutes 17 seconds of Deep Purple. I dont understand why this is on this. It is definitely not a ballad. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars BIG hair - BIG chords - BIG gestures - a feast of 'bigness'!
For 'Power Ballads' read 'big bouffant hair rock'. All the usual perpetrators can be found on this double album, including Meat Loaf, Air Supply, Toto, Europe and Bonnie Tyler... Read more
