5.0 out of 5 stars Apollo 17:End of the beginning DVD boxset, 30 May 2006
By Jem (UK) - See all my reviews
Having already viewed the outstanding Apollo 15 & 16 DVD boxsets I found this marginaly better. It has the edge for all types of footage being television, 16mm cinefilm, still photos and panoramas in both colour (or is it color?) and b/w.

This mission involves landing within the dangerous Taurus Littrow mountains.

With hindsight it is interesting in hearing mission control mention that congress has given the go ahead for the shuttle program. The astronaughts talk of more explorations including Mars.....perhaps they would have done if they had won the Vietnam war.

It is a shame that the rest of the Saturn V rockets were used for the failed Skylab project instead of the 3 further planned Apollo missions.

The Appllo missions reflected the peak of Western Global dominance during the sixties and early seventies. There is a newcomer from the East, within the next decade expect to buy Chinese footage!!!

If you have difficulty obtaining the product, I would recommend ordering it direct from spacecraftfilms.com.

Cheers Jem.
