The Uniross Sprint charger is designed to charge Ni-Cd or Ni-MH batteries in the following sizes/qualtities
  • 2 or 4 size AAA/R03/Micro
  • 2 or 4 batteries size AA/R6/Mignon
  • 1 or 2 batteries size 9V/Block/R22/PP3

    Batteries can be charged in quantities or 2 or 4 at a time. 9V batteries can be charged individually, it is also possible to charge 1 9V battery at the same time as 2 AA batteries.

    Once the charger is connected to a power outlet the red LED will illuminate to indicate that charging is in progress. The charge time depends on the capacity of the battery.

    Make substantial savings with your rechargeable batteries, the advantage of rechargeable batteries is that they can be recharged and reused up to 1,000 times. Rechargeable batteries will outperform the best alkalines in high-drain appliances such as digital cameras. Rechargeable technology has greatly improved over the years and is now leading the way for camera enthusiasts who require performance and reliability. Buying rechargeable batteries and a charger can save you money when you include the cost of the batteries, charger and electricity. In the average household there's an average of 25 battery powered appliances.

    Using rechargeable batteries also reduces household waste. 15 billion ordinary batteries are thrown away every year, all of which end up in landfill sites. Rechargeable batteries can be reused which helps reduce the impact disposable batteries have on the environment.

    This is a decent price of kit that has only one drawback - speed.
    I knew it was slow when I got it, and the charge times stated are accurate (takes 18Hrs+ for 2000mAh+ AA batteries), but it was the only Uniross charger in stock at the time I was buying my digital camera (which uses 4 AAs and has high power consumption).

    I can strongly recommend this charger if you are budget conscious and have a timer switch you can plug it into (this charger has no cut-off when the batteries are fully charged, so there is a dnager of overcharging).

    I've had no problems - I get about 1-2 days heavy usage from 2000 - 2100 mAh AAs in my camera, so I can have another set charging during that time. For long trips, you might need two fully charged sets of batteries and one on charge at home base. For really high-demand usage it might be better to buy a fast charger with a cigarette lighter attachment for the car. Much more expensive though...

    This charger is quite acceptable. I've had no problems with mine, and I use it regularly, for my battery-greedy digital camera. The batteries give me a decent life per charge, when tested in other devices such as wireless computer keyboards.

    The only downside is that the batteries to take a while to charge. Not a hideously long time, but a few hours is still less than ideal. Still, with the ability to charge four batteries at a time, you can confidently leave for work, and find them fully charged for when you return. I can't ask for more.

    I dread to think how long a slow charger would take to charge batteries. I certainly don't think a charge time of between 7 and 21 hours is in the least bit fast. Should not be described as a fast charger at all.
