CD Description
British shoegazer band the Telescopes began life as a noisy, My Bloody Valentine-style outfit, but by the time of theirself-titled second album, they had refined their approach considerably, turning down the guitars and turning up the songcraft. Sonically, the band relies more on jangles and drones than crashes and cacophony, and, structurally, the distinct influences of 1960s psychedelic pop can be discerned. Unfortunately, the band didn't stay together long enough to follow up on the advances they made here, breaking up not long after the album's release.
