4.0 out of 5 stars soothing and unnerving, 1 Dec 2004
By A Customer
I heard this on Radio 3 and was interested enough to check on Amazon to see if it was available. I was amused to see the other reviewer who hated it and compared it to a CIA torture tape. As he says, people's personalities differ. I thought it was quite interesting and pleasing, kind of eerie, not monotonous at all. It's like the back of the tapestry - secret noise that you can't usually hear. The noise of invisible radiation from outer space. Very pretty.

4.0 out of 5 stars Music of the spheres, 2 Dec 2004

"Signal to Noise" reminded me immediately of David Toops "37th Floor at Sunset", save that here the sound evolves as though you are being transported through different environments. Mechanistic and arhythmic yet also organic and soothing, this ambient noise is strangely compelling.

1.0 out of 5 stars Signal to Noise - no. just noise, 30 Nov 2004
By K Hudson (Holmrook, Cumbria United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This is without doubt the worst music I have ever heard. I was forced to listen to it for 3 minutes and it felt like 30. Someone asked me if it was a CIA torture tape. It was nothing ut white noise with minuscule permutations. I think experiments could be usefully carried out into how long it took to drive people with various personality types stark raving bonkers.
