Better than yu-g-oh game i know about!!!, 1 Jan 2005

This is a great game, rather this than yu-gi-oh any day. If you are a Duel masters fan of either the show or the ccg get it! In the game u can either play story or arcade mode, in story mode u get the choicce of 5 duelists (One for each colour), i am currently playing with Rusty, and then you have to trade, play and do quests for people, the storyline is great and the only chracter i recognise from the show is Knight. When you get in to a duel either arcade or story you have the choice of normal mode (the original rules) or extreme mode where it is in real time! Trust me if you are a RTS fan then you will enjoy extreme mode. The 3-d quality is good and the cinemtaic sequences wth the creatures is great, there is also many card to collect and many strategies to suit your dueling style. Inbetween the story they have cartoons to show the important keys of the story. Also alot of people like yu-gi-oh, now the difference is that this duel masters game actually plays with the real rules!! The only reasons im giving it 4 stars is because of the 3-d graphics when out of battle are kind of ps1 style and teh fact that when dueling with the computer u actually see the opponents hand and it see's yours, not what i wanted. Other than that its a great game.

Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This game is not so good as Yu-Gi-Oh.
So if you are used to yugi games, stick with it.
Story:
The story in this game makes no sense what so ever.
Involves you as the player facing some yobbs trying to bully you, and prove they're better than you.
Gameplay:
It's very complicated, you can hardly see what cards you have, because it doesn't show fully on screen.
You only get the a little picture preview of the card at the very top left of the screen, where all the cards are pilled up into a rotative spinning wheel, and not in your "Hand", like they should.
Each card you play, automaticly summons the monster into the field, wether you like it or not, and there isn't a "place card face down" mode, and that monster is destroyed, if attacked by a stronger monster.
There are no proper game rules, it's all about having the stronger monsters, which also does not require brains to work some strategy against each individual opponent.
The "build deck" screen is just so confusing, the cards are just so pilled up on top of eachother, that you can't even be bothered giving them a second look, and therefore can't build your deck the way you should.
It's far too much information in one screen for the brain to take.
Graphycs:
The graphycs sure are impressive, and so is the Sfx.
But it's far too much effort for a game like this, which you can't really enjoy, since you don't really know what you are doing.
Even the tutorials are so boring, that you find your self wondering off into a dream world and completelly forgetting you are playing the game.
Overall:
You like monsters, and cards, then stick with yugi.
Don't bother getting this, it's a waste of money.
