5.0 out of 5 stars Bringing a tear to a glass eye, 15 Dec 2006

Being a life-long sky blues supporter,I bought this DVD to remind me that the magic of the F A cup cannot be killed by the cynical commercial interests of greedy, grasping, faceless businessmen.I was there in '87, and everything in the great old game that keeps us coming back for more was present in that never to be forgotten, classic confrontation between two fearless attacking sides that weren't afraid to compromise their natural flair for entertaining their fans,in favour of the "win at any costs" attitude favoured by many teams in todays supposedly "superior" echelon of so-called elite clubs!Watching the DVD today still stirs the emotions that made me cry unashamedly with pride and passion for the only club that matters to me.But Spurs fans can hold their heads up high,Knowing their team contributed to the creation of a classic FA cup final!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sky Blue Heaven, 17 Dec 2004

(TOP 100 REVIEWER)
Having actually missed watching this final live and knowing the irregularity that Coventry City even reach any sort of success in the football world I was most delight to manage to get my hands on this DVD of the complete final from 1987.

The coverage is basically the complete match from the BBC's coverage, with John Motson's commentary, from the moment the teams walk out, the the moment CCFC recieve the cup. That alone is the one disappointing factor as I would have loved to have seen the Grandstand build up and see Des Lynham's half time analysis, but I guess that it is only the match itself that has been made available for release.

As far as the match itself goes, this is one of the classic FA Cup finals ever and it really does have everything going for it, end to end action, fantastic goals, superb refereeing (no cards during the whole game!) and also a fantastic look back to a time not all that long again when footballers didn't dive, didn't roll about in "agony", the trainer wasn't on every five minutes and the shorts were obscenely "short"

Great days!
