5.0 out of 5 stars Boy G., 24 April 2008
By Stutones "Stu" (North Wales.) - See all my reviews
This long awaited dvd has finally smacked down and has been a huge success!, so chuck ya videos in the bin and upgrade to this fantastic group's promo videos from start to end. Kicking off with the adorable Do You Really Want To Hurt Me, you'll be hooked. It is so great to see the Culture Club videos again, and you get the A Kiss Across The Ocean concert as a bonus plus other extras. The video for Mistake No.3, is gorgeous - and shows George at his most flamboyant. I totally enjoy watching this dvd time and time again, and i never tire of it. I just wish and pray that one day that we'll get a dvd of Boy George's solo projects too. So don't wonder anymore, if you clicked on too look at this, you need to buy it, just too see what a truly remarkable artist George actually is, song writer of the century is a must for this guy - a truly, truly talented, but unfortunately underrated artist of our time. Ingenius.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best of Culture Club, 16 Nov 2004
By Antonio Pineda (UK) - See all my reviews
(TOP 1000 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
Since the DVD format was first introduced, I dreamed of the Culture Club promo videos being released as one collection. And now, finally, that dream is a reality and I have to say that the long wait has proved worthwhile.

There are 17 music videos, including those of Culture Club's less successful singles such as The Medal Song and Mistake No. 3. The list is also comprehensive enough to include the three singles the band released when they reformed in 1998: I Just Wanna Be Loved, Your Kisses Are Charity, and Cold Shoulder.

Just to be able to watch the band's music videos all over again is reason enough to buy this DVD but the extras make it even more of a gem for die-hard Culture Club fans like me. A Kiss Across the Ocean, a 13-track concert filmed at the Hammersmith Odeon, London in December 1983 is included. This was released on video in 1984 but is now deleted and is regarded as a highly desirable addition to any Culture Club collection. Having the whole concert included here as a "mere" extra is an inspired and welcome decision by Virgin.

There is also a 10-minute interview aptly entitled Then and Now in which all four members of the band talk about how they feel about being back together again after more than a decade. Fans will take delight in seeing Boy George, Jon Moss, Mickey Craig and Roy Hay together in the same room again, reminiscing and discussing their future as a band.

For PC owners, the DVD-ROM section contains an album discography complete with track listings, a screensaver, wallpapers, and weblinks.

One couldn't help wishing that Boy George's solo music videos were also included but I guess that would have been too much to ask for. As it is, Culture Club: Greatest Hits is still near perfect. Get it now and bring back those glory days of the 80s when everyone wanted to wear outrageous and colourful clothes like George. The Culture Club sound is as fresh as ever and, as Mickey Craig put it in the interview, timeless.
