Synopsis

The great-great grandson of Ichabod Crane, Ian Cranston, returns to Sleepy Hollow (unaware of his ancestor's important connection to the village). His return awakens the spirit of the Headless Horseman, and a vengeance of horror ensues. It is then up to Ian to confront the Horseman and save Sleepy Hollow.

3.0 out of 5 stars Average teen horror, 26 Jan 2006
By Francisco "hifranc" (Newcastle upon Tyne, UK) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)
The film is set in the same town as The Legend of Sleepy Hollow but in the present day. The premesis of the movie is that the events in the former film are now part of the folklore of the town and, one Halloween, 3 students accidentally awake the horseman.

Ian (Zegers) and his family have just moved to the town. Brody (Carter) is the local team's [American] football star. Karen (Cuoco) is the cheerleader caught between them.

Claus (Keach) the local grave digger keeps trying to speak to Ian and tell him more about the legend. Ian and his father also have strained relations because of the fact that Ian is intellectual and his father, the football coach, has a different perspective on life.

As the body count starts rising the question is: Will Ian and the gang be able to stop the horseman or will Sleepy Hollow be wiped out?

The film is OK but is very formulaic and predictable. As I said in the title it's just an average teen horror.

4.0 out of 5 stars only for Nick Carter fans, 6 Aug 2005
Incredibly wooden acting for the whole cast with the exception of Nick Carter who managed to work well with robotic actors and a bad script. Sadly though we were meant to believe that this 25-year-old was in high school, and his acting isn't that good.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, not bad, 2 Dec 2004
A decent movie. The acting was a bit wooden in parts, but overall worth watching.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very hollow!
The acting in this movie is very very poor. It is very cheesey and only worth the watch if you're a Nick Carter fan. Read more
