ILLDISPOSED / 1-800 VINDICATION

When labels sign a new artist they always s say "You're really going to like this one, they are the best etc" so it's very nice when it this actually true.

This Danish band have been around for a while but this their debut for Roadrunner Records is very good indeed, their brand of Industrial tinged Death Metal is an unusual mixture but very listenable, sounding a bit like a cross between Hypocrisy and Fear Factory. The vocals are the usual Death Metal style but with a twist, they are harmonically distorted giving it that Hypocrisy feel to it but to my mind this is no bad thing as it makes them stand out from the pack and with the Industrial samplings and keyboard touches it takes what would have been ordinary into the unusual.

The heaviness of "When You Scream" and "You Against The World" cannot be denied, heavy as hell guitars, with digital precise backing and industrial trimmings, it cant fail to capture the imagination but there is another thing, they have a sense of humour as well, check out "Jeff" for proof. Overall this is a very good addition to the RR stable and well worth your money. Best tracks; ""Now We Are History", "Dark", "When Your Scream" and "Jeff".

As soon as the first song kicks in you know this is going to be a heavy album from the vocals and the low distorted guitar riffs. The first song gives off an old In Flames style song, which in my opinion is brilliant. Illdisposed have very good guitar riffs on this album with a lot of triple picking from time to time. Every song by this band seems to have double bass drums in it too, which I love. The song 'Jeff' is my favourite so far. It has everything I look for in a song : good vocals, guitar solo, build up, and good drums. The song is very in your face, from the start to finish. There is a build up from the start, which brakes into total death/speed metal, which connected with me straight away. I love it! The speed of the drums at that point is awesome too! The song 'Now were History' also stood out of the bunch. The vocals in the verse give off a good effect with the screaming in the background and the chorus is catchy. Good song. The last song 'The Final Step' is a nice fast one. It would be really good for a live show. It was get the fans pitting. Its another of my favourites. Everything song has its own fast riff which sounds brutal! This album is very impressive I find. The band has a lot of talent and has showed it in '1800 Vindication'. This album is for fans of Soilwork and In Flames and any speed metal fan. Kick ass \m/

I love this album - can't get enough of it, really.

Heavy, brutal, chucky, occasionally melodic, brilliant, excellently written, peerless. Black, Death and Heavy Metal all merged into one amazing package of aural delight.
