I found this quite difficult to listen to when I first bought it, expecting something similiar to Prefuse 73's (the same Scott Herren) One Word Extinguisher. Due to the very much more laid back style and on the surface of things, very acoustic sounding, I was at first disappointed by it.

Having had Manana for over a year now, and listening to it now and again, I have really learnt to appreciate this little album. It does in fact have all the signatures of Scott Herren, only it's less brash about it, and there is a certain spell binding attraction to it's underlying strangeness. It's perfect for those nights when you just can't sleep because of an active mind.
