5.0 out of 5 stars Great Yakumo Player, 29 Dec 2004
    By A Customer
This product rocks!! Sound quality is excellent with nice strong bass and treble tones. The build quality feels strong and LCD is vibrant backlit. The two inputs for double headphones could be useful. The unit can also be used as a portable disk drive. Although the design isn't quite as nice as some I have seen don't let that put you off. The Digital voice recording is also excellent and will pick up voices within the same room with good clarity. We purchased the player for our daughter and now I am thinking of getting one for myself. Oh its also upgradeable using sd memory which slots into the top of the player making it a 512mb.......wow!

5.0 out of 5 stars Read this review - it will help!, 24 Jan 2005
Despite the Yakumo is a bit beefier than many other MP3 players, this is something that has to be looked at by a curious consumer.

Now there are millions of MP3 players to choose from, you are spoiled for choice but this particular item is nothing to be sniffed at. No, it doesn't have an FM radio or it's not a 40 GB beast like the iPOD. But if like me, you only have a few CD's to put onto an MP3, this is perfect, because you always know there is that extra space you can fill when you buy more CD's.

After shopping around in shops and on the internet, the Yakumo Hypersound was the best one - especially for the money. It was also the cheapest one I could find with 256MB on it on Amazon, and they have loads of MP3's to choose from.

    SUMMARY
If you are looking for something tiny because you have got tiny pockets, then i am sorry i have wasted your time reading this review, BUT if you don't want to spend masses of Benjamins' on one and you want your money to go a long way, then this has your name on it. Oh yeah, the sound quality is amazing too, with a brilliant equalizer.

    2.0 out of 5 stars Don't Buy it!!, 2 April 2005
By Gary John Hall "truth-wins-out" (Liverpool) - See all my reviews
    (REAL NAME)
I had high hopes for this MP3 player, especially since it has the ability to read from MMC & SD cards. The biggest let-down, apart from the build, is that it ALWAYS reverts to the first track when you switch it back on. Therefore you have to scroll through all the tracks to get to the place where you left off. The ONLY way to resolve this is to use the Shuffle function, but that is not great either. I have contacted the makers but after almost a week there has been no reply from their support. If you can live with these problems, then yes, it works great. As for me, I'm selling mine and looking for a better one, FROM ANOTHER MAKER!
