4.0 out of 5 stars Impressed so far, 25 Oct 2004
I am a big fan of the TCM series. I have played previous CM games but was not impressed. Detail was good but the interface sucked.

In TCM 2005, EA Sports have taken a large step forward in making the game as realistic as the CM games. Along with that the user interface i.e menus and controls, are excellent which means I will be spending a considerable amount of time infront of my computer now.

Another very good feature is that you can create your own team i.e your local team. I have done that and now I am playing in my local league against other local towns. My next step is promotion to the conference division.

Conclusion: A big improvement on TCM 2004

4.0 out of 5 stars Great atmosphere, 8 Jan 2005
By A Customer
I just bought this game and feel that some of the reviews dont do it justice. Its graphically brilliant with great detail in the actual match. Working on things like training and transfers can be a little bewildering but the match day gameplay is fantastic. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes a game that recreates the atmosphere of a real match.

1.0 out of 5 stars Totally Random Manager 2005, 24 Oct 2004
I have played and enjoyed previous versions of this game so was looking forward to this one. However although the interface is great the game seems to have a couple of really big flaws...

Firstly and most annoyingly the random generation of 'reserve' players who are in fact better than the rest of your main squad (in one game going on ratings only two or three of my real players would have made the first team). This appears to be pretty much the case for all teams and leaves you playing against fictional players rather than your real-life heroes. Can't see the point and don't understand what the game is trying to achieve!

Secondly the number of red cards and injuries is amazing if you try to play the game in text mode - have repeatedly ended games with only 8 or 9 players on the pitch. This isn't the case in 3d mode but each game takes forever!

Despite the slick presentation the game flaws mean I have given up on the game after only a day - compared to the normal months that I would expected. Am very disappointed - if you haven't bought it I'd save your money as there will be better management games this season!
