5.0 out of 5 stars Beats the other worms games by miles, 4 Jan 2005

(REAL NAME)
Worms Forts is a much needed improvement for Worms 3D, the first 3D game in the worms series which became pretty boring and tedious with little strategy. In Worms Forts totally new and wonderful strategy is added giving you the choice to build a selection of buildings and then fire from them a totally new arsonal of weapons.

For those who played the other worms games, they would have found the destructable terrain a great prospect to them. In worms forts the terrain however is indestructable and only the buildings can be blasted apart. But this draw back gave way to much bigger maps and overall better graphics. The worms move more smoothly over the land and can get to places much easier with the help of double jump.

The weapons are stunning. Many of them are just plain silly (e.g. hamster minigun, a pope fired from a mortar, a fridge packed with frozen lemmings and a very interesting rocket launcher) but every one of them has its own uses. The better the buildings you obtain the better the weapons become and the more amazing the explosions become, the aim being to destroy the enemy worms strong hold or the worms themselves.

The missions are also much better. These travel through different time zones with the most wacky plots and the biggest range of unlockable weapons, landscapes, voices, fanfaires and tweaks ive seen.

All in all, a must have for strategic gamers, worm fans or not.
