The cynical single is very good, what I wanna talk about the B-side, "Zero".
It is an amzing sweet song, I love it. It's sounding like Darren has wrote this to his unborn child ("Welcome to the world..."). You may compare it to "Crush and Burn" because of the lines when he suggest you can call him when you feel down.

"Because people can be cruel
And the world is full of rules
That's when you need to call me
When the struggle gets you down
And there's no one else around

That's when you need to call me"

Amazing, pleasant and lyrical song.

A great track from his stellar new album, The Tension and the Spark, it is supposed to be ironic, although I find that the irony is lost on most people, who actually think he is seriously trying to promote himself with dancing and half naked women.
Come on!, this is Darren Hayes!
He is way beyond the level of any old popstar. Check out the new album and it will be made clear!
This single includes a new track, 'Zero', a nice little number that further promotes his new direction in music. The remix of Pop!ular is o.k., but the main thing is that this single includes the video for 'Pop!ular', funny and largly improvised!

Take a pinch of Madonna, add a spoonfull of NSYNC, 200g of Backstreet Boys, and there we have it...Darre Hayes' Pop!ular.

The perfect soundtrack to the summer....a brilliant satire on who you have to sleep with to get to the top of the music industry.

And the best bit?

Hayes is a popstar who isn't afraid to laugh at himself once in a while. Refreshing? Yes. Funny? Yes. A surefire top 5 hit? Definiitely!
