5.0 out of 5 stars The Album You`ve been Waiting For!, 27 Aug 2004
I am 37 years old.
I "bought the T-Shirt" with Punk,Ska,New Romantic,etc....
But I had another, less cool, side to my musical taste, that I had to keep hidden from my peer group......
I dared to appreciate (& even purchase) singles by Bros or 5 Star because they were, in my opinion, good songs.
I am sure that I was not alone.
It`s really not a crime to own "Out of the Blue" by ELO & also have "All mod cons" by The Jam!
This compilation has very nearly got it all, "Oh Lawrie" & "January" are worth the admission fee alone!
It`s time to stop worrying about being "cool" & get unashamedly nostalgic with the soundtrack to your Radio 2 youth.
Buy it!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Some very guilty pleasures, 23 Aug 2004
By M. Freeman (Wivenhoe, England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Oh dear! I'm sure I won't be the only person that sneaks this collection into their CD rack in the hope that their partner doesn't notice. A collection of 1970's tracks that time and fashion have left firmly behind. As you listen (probably on your own) you'll amaze yourself at how many of these songs are trapped in your head. Sing along (fairly quietly) and relive those days when friends were raving about that new-fangled punk music and you still quite liked what Simon Bates and Noel Edmunds were playing on Radio One.

Enjoy, but tell your loved one it was a joke offering from a friend or a Christmas present for your mum.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect!, 14 Sep 2004
If you like cosy, idyllic 70s pop then this will be non-stop bliss for you. It's the album I've always been looking for, after years of tracking down the songs on individual albums by the bands. There's songs you already know and love by 10cc and ELO and others from the radio that you never knew the name of but always wanted to hear again, like 'Oh Lori' by the Alessi Brothers. These might be guilty pleasures for some but I'm happy to have this CD take pride of place next to my Usher and Kanye West albums, especially with the glam packaging. Please bring out a sequel!
