Synopsis

A British 'mockumentary' comedy, sees Orlando Bloom playing a young milkman named Jimmy. Jimmy Connelly is quite happy in his job as a milkman and will hopefully one day become the regional manager for Express Milk Dairies. Jimmy is also a keen amateur boxer and trains regularly at his local gym. His life is about to take a bizarre turn when he acidentally puts Pete Wright- Britain's World title contender, out of action during a sparring session. Not being able to find a replacement, the twist of events ends up with Jimmy fighting the World champion in his home town. 'The Calcium Kid' becomes Britain's great hope - but can he stand up to a terrifying World champion?

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Humour-Good fun, 26 Sep 2005

to be honest I was more or less forced into watching this film otherwise wouldnt of given it a second glance after reading the blurb on the back of the DVD. how wrong I was, there are loads of funny scenes and cheesy lines but it works and is funny pritty much throughout. the story as it isn't exaclty challenging but thats not to much to the point, the comedy value and entertainment make it a must see in my opinion. The guy out of tv shows green wing and big train is hilarious as the voice over for the documentary aswell. Orlando Bloom plays his character pritty well and in general the performances are very good.

5.0 out of 5 stars very funny movie, 11 Sep 2004
I saw this one on sale in my local tesco store, looking at the cover i thought this was going to be another rubbish movie. How wrong i was. This is the funniest movie that i have seen all year.

Right from the start to the end, this is a laugh. The jokes are well written and excecuted by the actors perfectly. The movie tells the story of jimmy the local milkman, who accidently lands himself into a world title boxing match. He has only 7 days to prepare for the fight.

4.0 out of 5 stars A secret surprise., 1 Sep 2004
I have read to many review's bringing down this short but sweet comedy. Through out the 1 hour and 25 minute's, you are bound to have ton's of laugh's, even though the plot is somewhat unbelievable, but this is not a movie to be taken seriously.
Orlando (who play's jimmy the milkman) plays out a better part then most would like to give credit to. He doe's now ever slip at part's but alway's seem's to deliver quirky line's and characteristic face's. Is mate, Stan, is a sure out laugh, with his somewhat violent side, he has to be one of the best out charaters out of the story. The boxing is not to be a charm in this, but nor do I think it was suppose to be. And as it was set out to be a documentery, it was great to see a movie from that sort of aspect!

If you are looking for a none brainer, with a unbelievable plot, and none stunning profomance's then this would be a great dvd, just don't expect much and you will sure to have a secret surprise!

2.0 out of 5 stars Slow & boring
This is a very poor attempt at a spoof comedy. The master of this would be the great Woody Allen who has made several genuinely funny spoof documentaries in his career. Read more
