Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Young Buck is out to show the rap world that he's no mere 50 Cent lackey. Yet, Buck and 50 share an equally intense love for firearms and hustle-specific wordplay. 50 utters death threats on the hook of "I'm a Soldier"--right after the gun shot sound effects, of course--and the thuggery just accelerates from there. "Do It Like Me" and "Prices on My Head" reveal Buck's Tupacian persecution complex. Burgeoning beat miners Midi Mafia rework a classical music sample to perfection on "Thou Shall," offering a little something to ease the tension. And when the G Unit comes together, the results are usually breathtaking: "Bonafide Hustler" finds 50 Cent dissing Wyclef Jean while Tony Yayo flips keen verses about peddling drugs, to the tune of "Mama's Gonna Buy You a Mockingbird." Crunk beats from Lil' Jon ("Shorty Wanna Ride") and Three 6 Mafia ("Stomp," "Taking Hits") bring Buck's Tennessee roots to the fore, perfectly matching the rapper's country cadence. Although the boasts about his 'hood exploits can get tiresome, Buck delivers some nasty, first-rate storytelling and jeep beats. --Dalton Higgins

Album Description

Following in the footsteps of 50 Cent and Lloyd Banks, Young Buck is the latest bad-boy rapper to drop from the G-Unit crew. Featuring more gangstas than you could share a cell with, Straight Outta Cashville ropes in Lil Flip, David Banner, Stat Quo, T.I., Ludacris, Snoop Dogg and the whole D.P.G. family. Standout tracks include "Let Me In" with 50 Cent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Benj's View, 8 Sep 2004
I have read previous reviews of this album and I agree with the majority of comments that have been made - yes, it is better than the Lloyd Banks offering and yes this is the best effort by G-Unit so far. When I first heard that G-Unit were planning to offer individual albums, i was excited and I immediately thought to myself - I want the Young Buck album. I eagerly anticipated it's release, only to find out that the original release date had been delayed. I bought the album on the day it finally was released and the album has filled its potential. Buck keeps it real for the 'Durrty Durrty' and the guest MC's only add to the greatness. Stand-out songs for me are 'Prices On My Head', 'Shorty Wanna Ride', 'Stomp', 'DPG-Unit' and of course 'Let Me In'. All G-Uunit fans need this album in their collection

5.0 out of 5 stars Dope album, 12 Feb 2005
By Ramon (Exeter England) - See all my reviews
When lloyd banks dropped his solo album ''The Hunger for more'' I thought to myself, How the hell is young buck gonna compete to this? Well he competed alright and he destroyed lloyd bank's album! (No disrespect what so ever towards lloyd banks) This album i truely think is a future classic (In my opinion) Im just waiting for 50's album ''The massacre'' Which is vastly crepping up!! to see if he can deliver with such intesity like buck can???????? 5 stars for young buck with this album.

young buck has made a superb album the fact that 50 is on it only makes it better.
im a soldier is probably the best song on the album but the whole album is good. bonafide hustler is another brilliant song with 50 and tony yayo
