4.0 out of 5 stars Very good - me want more, 14 Jul 2005

Few people may have heard of Kick Axe but they wrote three albums in the eighties. Originally from Canada they made quite a following and wrote a number of songs for the likes of Black Sabbath. Unfortunately they were ripped off by their manager and left broke. The lead singer, George Christon, left and the rest of them toured in pubs until they went their separate ways.

Songhaus music then re-released the first two albums, Vices and Welcome to the Club, on CD and were well received. Kick Axe then decided to regroup, George Christon unfortunately could not join them as he is now a music manager for people like Dido (yep, I find this strange as well).

Worried that Kick Axe would not be the same without the voice of Christon I did put off buying this but was really impressed. They have the Kick Axe sound, a bit of 80s rock with their own style. Not heavy rock but not soft. The guitar from Raymond Arthur Harvey is excellent and the vocals are one of a kind.

If you want to try something new then I would recommend this album.
